1.1 He is the one who defines your Christianity or your Christiam faith.
1.2 He is the one you obey above everything else, or anyone else, no matter how difficult or demanding.
1.3 We are to view ourselves as doulos/slaves.
2.1 Faith in Christ
2.2 Faithfulness to all of God’s Law
2. There are essentially 6 problems suffered by credo-baptists which keep them from embracing the correct, biblical view of baptism and extending this divine promise (and blessing!) to their children:
2.1 Problem #1 = ignorance of church history.
2.2 Problem #2 = poor biblical theology.
2.3 Problem #3 = the influence of 19th century Revivalism.
2.4 Problem #4 = rejection of sacramental efficacy.
2.5 Problem #5 = the rise of permanent justification.
2.6 Problem #6 = the fear of change.
1. Baptism is an external sign expressing that persons wholehearted belief in, embrace of, and submission to what they are being baptized into.
2. Christian baptism is immediately appropriate the moment a person demonstrates understanding of the Gospel message/demands and communicates their willingness to believe, embrace, and submit to it.
3. Christian baptism is our entrance into the external covenant community of the church.
4. Christian baptism does not confer or guarantee salvation or promise that we won’t have to do it again.
