When the Apostle John wrote the book of Revelation to the seven churches of Asia Minor, was his intent to evoke images of red tides, Blackhawk helicopters, one-world governments and electronic microchips? Or is there a way to understand the symbolic language of Revelation in a way that was understandable to first century Christians and consistent with prophetic literature found throughout the rest of the Bible?
Everyone interprets Revelation symbolically. The key question is, are the solutions for those signs found in Scripture itself? Or in current events and our own imaginations.
