Diagnosis Here is the DSM-IV’s diagnosis for clinincal depression: “A depressed mood or loss of interest accompanied by at least four additional symptoms of depression (changes in appetite or weight, sleep, and psychomotor activity; decreased energy; feelings of worthlessness or guilt; difficulty thinking, concentrating, or making decisions; or recurrent thoughts of death or suicidal ideation, plans or attempts). The symptoms must persist for most of the day, nearly every day, for at least two consecutive weeks. B. Prescription Change the feelings to change the behavior. Through drug therapy, anti-depressants. The Bible’s Perspective A. Diagnosis – depression can be healthy and normal – depression can be a sign of unresolved sin or sinful patterns B. Prescription Change the behavior and you change the feelings.
